About Kerrie

Welcome to my website ‘It’s Time 2 Talk’, my name is Kerrie Baker and I am a fully qualified Counsellor with Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Counselling offering a counselling service in South Devon, Teignmouth.

I am an accredited registered member of National Counselling Society (NCS) and adhere strictly to their ethical framework. I am a trained integrative counsellor which means that I have the flexibility to adapt my counselling skills according to my client’s specific individual needs.

I am deeply committed to my own regular professional development and clinical supervision to further enhance my practice.

My own personal journey into counselling

As a counsellor in training you have to unravel your own thoughts and feelings, your life history and experiences. You basically pull yourself apart and rebuild yourself again. At least that is what it felt like for me. My training opened up a new way of thinking which gave me understanding, reasons and answering many questions. I became the new and improved version of me.

I have a private practice in the Pavilions on Teignmouth Seafront in which I provide a bright, quiet, comfortable and safe space to talk.
There’s a lift for disabled access with plenty of parking on the seafront. Teignmouth station is less than 10 mins walk.

With time, empathy, respect and a safe space, people feel free to explore their life challenges with me in a positive, productive manner.  This exploration often leads to understanding, acceptance and an ability to move forward.
Sessions are tailored to fit my client’s specific issues and I work in a non-judgemental, confidential and impartial manner at all times.

My role is to walk alongside you as you explore your experience and how it is impacting your life so that you can reconnect with who you really are, rather than the person that you have become.

Together we will identify the issues which are causing problems and work towards freeing you from them. In my experience this process can be difficult but also very rewarding. Engaging in therapy will strengthen you, enabling you to feel liberated and energised.

I believe good mental health is essential for continued personal growth and development and this will help to support you through any difficult times that you may encounter. I offer the opportunity ‘to get things off your chest,’ this will bring positive change and personal growth.

When you feel lost, alone or unheard, I will be there to listen and support you, counselling can help provide the opportunity to explore, make sense of, and work through difficult and painful processes which can help you live a happier more fulfilling life. I believe with the right support, we can all achieve positive change.
